Michael Anderson
Bass Guitar and Lead Vocals
Born and raised in Chicago, Michael Anderson’s love for music and especially vocal harmonies took root during his junior year of high school where he joined the school’s chorus program and sang bass for the school’s male quartet, which remained intact until Michael’s graduation in 1965.
He and two of his quartet partners entered the annual high school talent show in 1964 as The Beatles and it was this successful performance that inspired and solidified his love of performance and music.
After graduation the group continued to perform for high school dances, fraternity parties and various rock venues throughout the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Michael went from tambourine, guitar player and lead singer to settling on his current love for the electric bass guitar and vocals.
In the early ‘70s Michael teamed up with another high school friend to write and produce original songs. Then, in 1975, he and his friend formed their own media production company where they wrote and produced radio jingles, live industrial stage shows and original music for large corporate events. Eventually the production company opened an office in Tampa, Florida, where Michael began producing an annual awards event for a local staffing firm.
It was here where he met and formed a bond with the company’s owner, David Dunkel. From this business relationship grew a personal friendship, and through their mutual love of rock music they began their next musical venture when David called Michael to say, “You’ll never work for my company again unless you play bass in my band!”
In Shepherd’s View, Michael plays bass, writes and arranges original music and adds his vocal talents to the rock band which is dedicated to using their God-given talents to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through music.
Today, in addition to performing in Shepherd’s View, Michael owns a video production company called MiracleMedia. Michael has four children from his previous marriage and five grandchildren, and resides in the Tampa Bay Florida area.
